"Secrets of Dune" YT channel claims WB is trying to shut the channel down

Nevada desert 2012-5

Here’s an odd one.,

“Secrets of Dune” claims that Warner Brothers is trying to end his Youtube channel, with copyright claims and YT demonetization.

Is there a problem that spoilers would deter ticket sales?  Not for a story as complicated but well known from the books as this one.

Well my own script “Second Epiphany” drawn from my own SASE books could become just as complicated if it became a franchise.

"Is China’s Social Credit System Real? " a westerner who has lived there tells us

ThreeGorgesDam-China2009

Iowwhy86 offers a video on Oct. 21, “Is China’s Social Credit System Real? I Found Out”.

The system is fully implemented in only a few areas and is inconsistent.  It picks on rather specific, narrow violations.

Yet China is very determined to demand social capital from every individual, through mandatory residential and workplace CCP organizing.

“Four Hours at the Capitol” from HBO Documentary

2021 United States Capitol VOA 1 (cropped)

HBO Documentary Films offers  a 92-minute film by Jamie Roberts, “Four Hours at the Capitol”.

This is the most detailed account yet of the events inside the Capitol on January 6, 2021, when 15000 insurgents tried to stop the counting of the Electoral College votes by Congress.

One of the most chilling scenes is the evacuation of the House from its own chamber.

The personal brutality of members of the mob, wanting to gouge eyes, is striking.

So is their immersion in erratic beliefs, as they do not trust mainstream sources of information om a world of algorithmic social media. Some believe in replacement ideology, and others fear expropriation by the radical Left, even according to CRT.

Brendan Gutenschwager often appears and comments.

Ford Fischer and News2Share contributed licensed footage outdoors.

The film does not give a lot of detail on how the reinforcements pushed back the rioters after 4 hours. The lack of preparation by Capitol police seems to be Trump’s doing. We had a close call with Trump's use of martial law, and then what?

There is a line in the crowd: "Whose side are you on?"  Really.

“Restricted: How Big Tech Is Taking Away Your Freedom", from PragerU

9/11 memorial tower of song

“Restricted: How Big Tech Is Taking Away Your Freedom”, 2101/9/29, 20 min, documentary from PragerU, link.

BigTech is depicted as using its monopoly  tactics to favor an identarian progressive agenda, with a vague definition of hate speech based on relativism and grievance rather than normal social standards.

In practice it tends to shadow-ban or demonetize rather than deplatform. Or thry have refused to distinguish between citizen or independent journalism and direct speech.

But it in extreme cases it has used infrastructure companies to remove competitors (Parler) or even get bank accounts closed.

Lake Ontario from Toronto hotel, 2019-7

“All 10 PROVINCES in CANADA Ranked WORST to BEST” by From Here to There.

It starts with the territories, where some people get rich.

Home prices are quite high, and crime is higher than you would expect.

The #1 province really could be a separate country, my last big visit was in 1993.

How storytelling principles apply incidents in my own life

WM

Tyler Mowery discusses a fundamental with screenwriting “How to Give Your Story a Good Foundation

The main idea is that a good film presents its protagonist with clear stakes, practically and then philosophically.

So for me, its 1961.  My parents go on a road trip to visit me my freshman year of college away from home Thanksgiving.  Black Friday they visit friends in another city and my father gets a surprise phone call from a dean at the college,  That sets up a situation for my parents’ marriage.

It would be challenging to formulate the goals and stakes for a dramatic situation this diffuse.

"Fruits of Labor" a teenager in California supports siblings and deals with school

federal relocation site

Fruits of Labor” (2021) directed by Emily Cohen (74 mi

n), tells the story of Ashley, half Mexican, who wants high school and college, winding up supporting siblings working in food processing assembly lines and strawberry fields when ICE raids her family.  The film early on makes a point of the history that FDR’s New Deal did not protect farm workers, a relic of systemic racism. COVID is a perverse rosk.

This aired Oct 4 on PBS.

“Did the Universe Need Conscious Life?” or local agency?

layered image

“Did the Universe Need Conscious Life?” by Meta Rising and Waking Cosmos, Documentary about Consciousness 2021.

The argument is reflexive.  You could sum it up as saying the Universe needs consciousness with local high agency to balance entropy.  Ultimately the Universe may cycle between Omega points.
