Lincoln, 1861: "You Are Not My Enemy"
The Ford’s Theater Museum has a sequence of History Channel
short films and videos that start with Abraham Lincoln’s inauguration on March
4, 1861.
The best title for the entire sequence would be “You Are Not
My Enemy”.
But Lincoln would soon force critical decisions about Fort
Sumter, and war was unavoidable.
Lincoln would soon have to suspend the writ of habeas corpus.
